One of five historical gates for city entry/exit, located in this area. Unique angled entrance design for military strategy. Gate positioned near street end, adjacent to still-visible buildings.
City Wall Dismantling
Brno's walls and gates were dismantled in mid-19th century. Replaced by Okružná třída (Ringstrasse), a circular boulevard enabling city expansion beyond medieval limits.
